• » About STEP

The Wisconsin Wireless Association supports the STEP (Student Tools for Emergency Planning) Program.

Fifth grade students across Wisconsin are learning to be ready for disasters and emergencies through STEP, Student Tools for Emergency Planning.

STEP is designed to teach students how to prepare for various emergencies including tornadoes, flooding and storms and encourages them to share the information with their families and to develop their own family emergency plan. Along with the knowledge, each student takes home a starter emergency kit.

More than 28,000 students across Wisconsin have taken part in STEP since the program’s launch during the 2010-11 school year.
